As the daughter of a commercial director and cinematographer, I grew up surrounded by show-making. I started life as a performer, including eleven years as a comedy improviser with ComedySportz Los Angeles, seven seasons under Salem the cat on Sabrina the Teenage Witch, and dozens of puppets in
Team America, World Police.
After emigrating to Canada in 2008,
my work increasing shifted behind the camera as I expanded my technical capacities to apply my unusual career trajectory and storytelling experience to editing.
I'm very lucky to have edited with so many terrific talents! Behind my cheerful exterior is a sincere desire to be helpful. I am inspired by creative problem-solving and juiced-up in collaborative moments!
The pleasure of a great bin of footage is not to be underestimated. Whether it's a romantic comedy, Christmas movie, psychological drama, tween-age girl-power episodic, or 3-channel art installation,
I like to bring a little something extra to everything I work on.
I approach each project uniquely, designing editorial strategies to maximize the creative intent of the story. I often pursue innovative takes on cinematic idioms. Playing with the metabolism of the edit and/or the harmony or juxtaposition of images and sound, crafting nuances in performances, and structuring moments for the greatest emotional impact
are just some of my favourite things.
